Life as a disaffiliate

Is rough. I am having a blast with the girls on the council as well at the Recruitment Councilors, but I miss my sisters. mucho.

Plus the long days and work are harder without your closest people by your side.

Which makes me excited for Bid Day. :)

Other than that, tomorrow is the Vendor Fair, which I have put quite a lot of work into. So we'll see how that goes. I'm excited for the Bare Escentuals group thats coming. Who doesn't love free, really expensive makeup?

Other than that, I'm excited for this upcoming year, good things are in store. Im sure of it. :)

dreams of Pepperdine dancing in my head

I missed pictures about my visit to Pepperdine with Dustin, so here they are!

Me in front of the West LA campus right before
my informational meeting
(in my Pepperdine info session dress, of course-
thanks to Kier for the belt!)

Dustin and I drove out to LA during our stay at Palm Springs, it was absolutely wonderful. I fell even more so in love with Pepperdine. Fall 2011? It would be awesome (except I think I would prefer Irvine instead of West LA).

After we went to Hollywood to show Dustin what the blvd is all about!

By the Chinese Theater
Driving home, like a complete dork

We had such a great time together. I absolutely love sharing firsts with him (both his and mine), and his first time to the blvd was great. :) CPK was delicious and looking for names on the stars was great!

Recruitment Time!

So the time has come, recruitment time! or at least work week. Which for me, a disaffiliate and member of the panhellenic council, starts at 9am tomorrow.

I'm excited to be making such a big impact on the other side of recruitment but I am most definitely going to miss being with my sisters. I felt like last year was the first time I really connected with the entire chapter and I am super sad I will be missing out on that with the newer girls.

But on a brighter note, I am so freaking happy to be back in the house. It literally feels like home. Even before I was unpacked, and in a different room than last year, it just felt right. Everything about it feels right. Except for Dustin not being in Tucson... soon. :)

Well this one seems more like a diary entry than a blog post, but yeah.

recruitment time.

Past Post

I've been updating the past few posts with pictures, enjoy. :)

Now on to Palm Springs! (another past event... gosh I need to get better at this).

I got to spend a week with Dustin and the rest of the Henderson family as well as some of their friends in Palm Springs about 2 weeks ago- it was awesome!

I didn't take very many pictures except during cherades but here are some of the ones I got!
Dustin is a hoot to watch :)
Haha Tyler- Brettes boyfriend

It was an awesome time! During the day we were pool side, always lovely. One of the nights we went karaoke-ing. Dustin and I did a duet, Truly, Madly, Deeply (his pick). I sang horribly the whole time and he danced sexually. What a show! Then I did a solo- My Maria by Brooks and Dunn (more humiliating but totally necessary if I was going to actually say I karaoked).
Some of the guys at Karaoke
Brooke and I
Dustin, Darin and I

Dustin and I made dinner for everyone one night- bruscetta, caesar salad, and homemade spaghetti (the sauce, not the noodles). Delicious!!!

We went to a restaurant called Wangs one of the nights, It was delicious.

The trip was a blast and I am so blessed to be invited to such occasions. :)

vacation.

Confession Wednesdays: 1

Here are my confessions:

1. I don't like political campaigning of any sort. The whole point has shifted from telling people, truthfully, what you're about- to bashing the competitor. Which is not the kind of person I want running anything.

2. I don't enjoy people who can't sympathize with the homeless. You don't know their story, so don't judge them. The benefit of the doubt isn't such a bad thing. You probably wouldn't want them thinking not nice things about how you may have gotten enough money to get by, so don't assume they're lazy, drug addicts, etc. Fun fact- many homeless people have mental illness and can't maintain jobs, relationships, achieve an education, etc.

3. When I go into stores alone, I sometimes find myself mozying into the baby stuff. I do not, repeat, do not, want a baby right now. But the stuff is almost as cute as the little babies themselves.

these are just some of my confessions
