I am so grateful, day 3

I am so grateful for naps, and for Dustin.

They both were the key to letting lots of stress accumulated over the last few days flutter away.

Confession Wednesdays: 16

I am really bad at w a i t i n g for the future.

And I am thankful for a someone who is patient with me.

You know who you are.

patience.

I am so grateful, day 1

I decided that since my 30 day photo challenge is basically over (I know I have one more day, I'm waiting for the perfect picture), I would start a 30 day challenge for what I am grateful for.

Day 1.

My new job.

I am a leasing consultant for an apartment complex sooo close to UA. Which, will be helping me bring in money, which is desperately needed with the Pepperdine acceptance.

Little Miss Grad Student

I have officially been accepted to Pepperdine University's Masters in Psychology Graduate Program.
my soon to be home. errr... school.

Now, instead of worrying about getting in I can concentrate on finding a house and 50k in scholarships.

But I am still excited. or perhaps a better word is ecstatic.

graduate student.

The beginning of the end

So here it is, I'm back in school. For my last semester. And let me tell you about the first day of school.

It was actually cancelled. Due to the Tucson shootings, which killed 6 and left Congress woman Gabby Giffords in critical condition, President Obama was coming to the U for a memorial service.

getting full!
The Obamas
Some of my favorite quotes:
Heroism is here, in the hearts of so many of our
fellow citizens, all around us, just waiting to be summoned.

The loss of these wonderful people should make
every one of us strive to be better.
To be better in our private lives, to be better
friends and neighbors and coworkers and parents.

And I believe that for all our imperfections,
we are full of decency and goodness, and that
the forces that divide us
are not as strong as those that unite us.

I want to live up to her expectations.
I want our democracy to be as good as Christina imagined it.
I want America to be as good as she imagined it.
All of us -– we should do everything we can
to make sure this country lives up to our children’s expectations.

No matter your political affiliation, President Obamas speech was moving and incredible. I am proud to have him represent our country, he knows when to be there for the people.

Ain't No Martha Stewart- Chicken

Its been too long to give a real tutorial, mainly because I don't really remember what all I did. But here is the watered down version.

Coat chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, yummy spices, salt, pepper, and love. Don't forget to spank the chicken for good luck (the first time I cooked a Turkey my dad actually had me do that.. as a joke).

my seasonings
my spread

Stuff with leftover lemon chunks and some chopped celery (because its delicious).

my beautiful bird.

Cook. Then serve to your favorite friends and family at your Christmas party.
yum.

Ain't No Martha Stewart- Pancakes with an apple reduction

I guess you can call this the tutorial.

Anyway, dice apples and add them to butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. I may have added a splash of milk. Cook.

Top pancakes with deliciousness and add bacon and eggs.

DELICIOUS.

Maybe one of the best ideas ever.

breakfast.

Vegas! again.

So, Nicki and I were invited to meet up with Jillian and David in Vegas because Jillian was there for work and David was lonely.

Point is we got the cheapest Vegas trip ever.

And stayed at the Palazzo.
near the pool pretty high up at the new Cosmopolitan resort
good news is I now will never have to worry about running for a political position
hahahaha
In the middle of Sin City, this is my favorite part
Bye bye Vegas!

5 hours of T-Swift, Sky Bridge, McDonalds, gambling, nude-y cards, weird tv, falling asleep early, waking up early, more gambling.

fabulous trip.

New Years!

For New Years Eve Dustin and I met up with Nicki for some fun.

We joined David (her brother), Jillian (his fiancée and our old dance friend) and their friend Mike at a bar in Old Town Scottsdale. The night was filled with singing, some weird dancing, and fun.
two of my loves. and our hats.
new hat which doubled as a drink cover to prevent from being roofied.

Beginning another year with my favorite girl
After the bar we picked up Grant (Nickis friend) and his friend, went back to Nickis and played some ping pong and Mario Kart until we were too tired to go on. :)
the end of said activities.

Next came New Years Day. My family, Dustin, Grandfather, Sally and Kayla all went out to Greesewood Flats for some BBQ fun. Basically you bring a dish for your family which is your ticket into the pot luck. Greesewood Flats smokes a ton of pork and everyone feasts.

There are fire pit areas spread out everywhere. They supply the wood and you can build your own fire.

Christmas Break Continued

Christmas day is always fabulous.

I am thankful that God sent Jesus to give us a human connection to Him, to show us what humanity is really about, and to save us from our sins.

We celebrated the day with Christmas gifts, and a wonderful dinner.
favorite gift- a new sewing machine to get my craft on.

The next day we celebrated Christmas with more friends and family (+Dustin got into town). I threw a Christmas left-overs party and it was so nice to have the ones I love in one place. Plus, I love throwing a party or two. Ironically I only have one picture from the party.

The next week was filled with pool, bowling, game time, and much more.

winter break recap

So I blogged all the time over the break... but Im now realizing I didn't blog about what I actually did yet!

Here we go.

You saw how wonderful Disneyland was, and it pretty much rained the rest of the time I was there. I spent time with Dustin, our friends (his high school friends) and his family a lot of the time. His sisters took me to get a Christmas pedicure and we took his cousins to Balboa Park.
dinner on the ocean (pretty much) with a view of the downtown San Diego skyline
hit or miss- spin the spinner for a color and that bean either tastes delicious or will make you want to die. chocolate pudding or dog food... surprise!
my bomb tower that the staff took a picture of because it was awesome. im just saying.
Dustin and Carsons tower... aka Dustins work
Nick, Dustin, myself and Carson- I just love Balboa Park

After some great times there I left for Christmas Eve at the Johnsons. Christmas church service then party time!

Confession Wednesdays: 14

I have no idea what to do if I don't get into Pepperdine.

Lets hope I don't have to cross this path.

My options I have not really thought through are:
1. to be Tinker Bell at Disneyland
2. to be a Wedding Planner (the only real possibility)
3. to open my own bar

30 day photo challenge: Day 30

Day 30 - A picture of someone you miss

I obviously miss my uncle. and I've talked about that a lot recently, so I'll go with Dustin.

I haven't seen him in a while (he's in SD right now with family), and its very easy to miss someone you love very much.
