Words can be hard to come by
You might have read this and wondered what the deal was. Well...
I'd like to complain about a someone in my life who has always caused me some sort of grief, or sadness, or a sense of unwelcomeness (yeah I just made that up).
And even though I know living my life has made me a very strong individual, I sometimes wish for the person that so many others have.
I almost feel like this is the perfect picture for a post secret confession.
Thankfully, my mom is so fantastic at filling the void. My uncle was/is a great replacement (even though he's not here).

Internet time wasting
I'm a fan of a few time wasting sites. Especially funny ones. (I'm not really the lol cats enthusiast or whatever that site is)
But I love Don't Even Reply. If you can get around the foul language and sometimes graphic images, it's freaking hilarious.
Falling towards the top of my all-time favorites list is, Christmas dinner, and the Shaniqua Chronicles part 1, 2, and 3.
this one just made me giggle.
Literally, this site always makes me laugh out loud, and occasionally until I cry. love love love love.

uncle eric
I went to delete an old e-mail account today, and instead spent 30 minutes reading old e-mails between my uncle and I. I miss him very badly.
and I know he knows that.
but that doesn't make me miss him any less.
love you Uncle Eric,
nutcase.

shopping
is usually awesome. unless you need the perfect outfit. which consists of wearing almost nothing.
I'm trying out for the Suns Dance Team (I wasn't going to put it on my blog- not working so well) and we have to wear shorts and a tummy exposing shirt (aka sports bra?).
Today was the first day I have had to buy spankies (or itty bitty shorts) in probs 5+ years. And I'm on my period.
Enough said.
hope that wasn't too much info :)

Mazie
So Mazie was The Johnson's dog. But didn't get along with their other dogs. So she moved in with my Uncle. Who, referred to himself as the dogs caregiver. [even though we know he loved he soooo much. In the hospital he would always perk up when we talked about Mazie]
And now she lives with us. Which I love to the moon and back. It's like having a piece of his heart walking around. And pooping around.
Because yes, the point of this post is Mazie pooping in the house.
The other morning I woke up to a stank, and found a little Mazie treat for me.
But it is impossible to be mad at her, because she punishes herself.
When Mazie has done something wrong she acts like you are screaming at her, even if you use your softest, nicest voice. Sort of like when parents use the "I'm disappointed" thing. [the worst, right?]
She attempts to make her body mold into the floor while attempting to avoid eye-contact, with subtle puppy dog eye glances. She also wags the last 2 inches of her tail to melt your heart.
And it totally works.
[although, I would like to add- she rarely poops inside. the storms have her a little jazzed up]

fantastic day
Well I guess this is what I get. One day talk about how I've been in a bit of a rut, have a fantastic day the next.
Today was awesome for a few different reasons.
1. I finally got the bed frame for the new mattresses I purchased. WOO HOO! [not to mention it was only $20 at the thrift store]
2. I got to the gym for the first time since vaca.
3. I organized my room, cleaned the bathroom, and so much more.
4. Watched a Grey's Anatomy re-run with Mom.
and most fabulously, 5. hung out with my best girl friend, Nicki. Whom I haven't seen in forever.
And hanging out with her was pretty much the highlight of my life. We enjoyed salad and spaghetti, cookies [yummm], So You Think You Can Dance, catching up, talking about everything and anything, and a little gossip.
I love her times a million and Im stoked for our lady dates we have planned [hanging out at least once a week].

I am so amazed at what all you can find at this thrift store. and everything is SO MUCH CHEAPER than others I've been to. |

Looking at the bright side
So right now I am pretty much in a rut about some of the details in my life. Mainly the whole I completely changed what I want to do the rest of my life, and still don't 100% know what that is.
But I have something wonderful worth thinking about. [and subsequently lifting my spirits]
In the last 14 months I have purchased and paid off a car. But not just any car, my dream car. Chauncey. aanndd saved $1,800.
And how do I have that in the bank? [because I actually had to think about this] Well because it was for graduate school. But now it's part of my nest egg. For when I start the next big chapter in my life.
I'm pretty excited about it. But I have some people to thank that gave me the opportunity to save that up. Like scholarships and grants to get me through undergrad without loans. My grandfather for ADPi. My mom for providing me a loving place to live post grad. and the wonderful love of my life for spoiling me every now and then. --- Basically, I am so grateful for all I have been given.
But don't let that fool you- I've been workin hard too. I've worked since I was 14 and held up to 3 jobs at one time. And I'm grateful that God has given me the opportunity for that as well.
So I guess this is post is a reflection on how blessed I am- to have my friends, family, and most of all God, give me the opportunity to grow.
Crazy long self reflective post. Woahh.
What are you grateful for?

More from Bass Lake 2011
Here are some scenes from our first stop, Cousin Marcia's house. Don't mind that her husband [Bo] wasn't there. He's out in Hawaii working on the t.v. show, Hawaii 5-0. Poor Bo.
Thanks for letting us stay Marcia, we love you!!!

Bass Lake 2011
Here are just a few scenes from Bass Lake. I'll work on getting them all up over the next few days!
We were at Bass Lake for a week and we filled that time with boating, kayaking, swimming, jetskiing, tubing, horseshoes, card games, ladder ball, and the park. Not to mention laughter, smiles, and good memories.
take me back.
