Ain't No Martha Stewart- Chicken

Its been too long to give a real tutorial, mainly because I don't really remember what all I did. But here is the watered down version.

Coat chicken with olive oil, lemon juice, yummy spices, salt, pepper, and love. Don't forget to spank the chicken for good luck (the first time I cooked a Turkey my dad actually had me do that.. as a joke).

my seasonings
my spread

Stuff with leftover lemon chunks and some chopped celery (because its delicious).

my beautiful bird.

Cook. Then serve to your favorite friends and family at your Christmas party.
yum.

Ain't No Martha Stewart- Pancakes with an apple reduction

I guess you can call this the tutorial.

Anyway, dice apples and add them to butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. I may have added a splash of milk. Cook.

Top pancakes with deliciousness and add bacon and eggs.

DELICIOUS.

Maybe one of the best ideas ever.

Day 25 - A picture of your day

Today I made breakfast for Dustin, Kayla, and my family.

It was delicious! Eggs, bacon, pancakes with my sweet apple cinnamon reduction. (tutorial to come)

And it's even better when served on leftover Christmas party paper plates.

Past Post

I've been updating the past few posts with pictures, enjoy. :)

Now on to Palm Springs! (another past event... gosh I need to get better at this).

I got to spend a week with Dustin and the rest of the Henderson family as well as some of their friends in Palm Springs about 2 weeks ago- it was awesome!

I didn't take very many pictures except during cherades but here are some of the ones I got!
Dustin is a hoot to watch :)
Haha Tyler- Brettes boyfriend

It was an awesome time! During the day we were pool side, always lovely. One of the nights we went karaoke-ing. Dustin and I did a duet, Truly, Madly, Deeply (his pick). I sang horribly the whole time and he danced sexually. What a show! Then I did a solo- My Maria by Brooks and Dunn (more humiliating but totally necessary if I was going to actually say I karaoked).
Some of the guys at Karaoke
Brooke and I
Dustin, Darin and I

Dustin and I made dinner for everyone one night- bruscetta, caesar salad, and homemade spaghetti (the sauce, not the noodles). Delicious!!!

We went to a restaurant called Wangs one of the nights, It was delicious.

The trip was a blast and I am so blessed to be invited to such occasions. :)

Ain't No Martha Stewart- Layered Taco Salad

Layered Taco Salad

Absolutely Delicious! One of my more wonderful creations, and SUPER easy!
Unfortunately my pictures were deleted off my camera while trying to put them on my computer, use your imagination. :)

Ingredients:
Cooked and seasoned ground beef
Black beans
Letuce
Cheese
Tomato
Italian dressing
Chips
Seasonings:
Cayenne pepper
Minced Onions
Garlic

Cook the beans with the garlic, minced onions and cayenne pepper

Toss the meat with a little Italian dressing.

Assemble the salad part- cheese, tomato, lightly crunched chips, and lettuce- tossed in Italian dressing.

Put everything together!

I layered in the following way- meat, cheese, beans, salad, then topped with tomatoes, cheese, more chips, and cayenne pepper.

Enjoy!

Ain't No Martha Stewart- Spaghetti Sauce take 2

Spaghetti Sauce- yum!

So my first batch of spaghetti sauce was nothing compared to this, so heres how you do it!

I did...
2 cans of tomato sauce
1 of tomato paste to thicken it up
Fresh diced tomatoes
1/2 a zucchini
2 cloves of minced garlic
various seasonings:
Oregano
Basil
Chopped onion
Rosemary
Parsley
Pepper
1 lb of ground beef (a lot tastier than the previous version which included chicken)

some of the fore mentioned ingredients
So dice up your zucchini tomatoes and garlic and add that to your vat of tomato product, cooked ground beef, add seasonings to taste and let simmer for 30 minutes.

In retrospect it was really acidic, which I love but maybe you don't. Try adding a little sugar? Its up to you :)

Hope you love it, I do!

ta-da!

Cooking is much more fun when you have someone to cook for

that is not sam.

delicious!

countdown to Thanksgiving... 20 min!

oh snap! It's 20 minutes until Thanksgiving... and I am totally excited. I am currently waiting on my holiday jello to set, so I can add the next layer to it. :] YESSS. So tomorrow... Thanksgiving. I am still working on the jello, obviously. And I am also in charge of the turkey, which is my favorite, and green beans. LOVE.

I started wrapping the Christmas gifts I got today, and I hope to finish the rest tomorrow. Why? Because we put the tree up on Friday! Mom and I probably won't be doing the camp out black Friday shenanigan (theres nothing we want really worth standing in line for) but we will be spending the day setting the house up for Christmas! YAY! Saturday we're going to hike Squaw Peak, then bowling with my Uncle. Sunday is church and some hanging out before heading back to Tucson. The rest of the semester is going to be short, which is awesome! I have a week and a half left before finals start... which is only 5 days left of classes. :]

Mom and I did some pre-Thanksgiving shopping today, very nice. We also addressed and signed all the family picture Christmas cards to send out next week.

I am hoping this is a great Thanksgiving, and that the holiday family fighting is kept to a minimum. ;] I think we get all wrapped up in the awesomeness that we get a little short with one another. Lets do this... I am promising myself right now that no matter what happens, no getting rude with anyone. perfection.

Well I am going to work on my paper for Psychology of Personality... exciting.

Goodnight world.
