life as a fiance

Hey there,

Welcome back! It's been forever since I've written, but it's because life has been absolutely wonderful and I haven't had all the time I'd like to dedicate to blogging. But I'm now a fiance and want to make sure I'm cateloging this wonderful experience. that & I've had so many people tell me they are so excited to see me plan the wedding. I'm not entirely sure what that means, so I'm going to use this!

Not sure where to start this journey as I don't have all the pictures yet of the engagement, so I'll start with the week after.

Dustin has 3 sisters, and as life would have it he and his 3 sisters were all engaged for a week. It was wonderful to be able to celebrate our engagement with his entire family at Shannons [his oldest sister] wedding.

wedding planning tip #1 (wpt): create an email address to use for wedding planning so you don't get stuck with tons of mass emails after the big day!

Once upon a time there was a Henderson family vacation
Parented by these two

 Who had these two daughters
followed by this man, who got this girl to be his girlfriend.

And they all enjoyed their time together in Palm Springs. Because who doesn't love vacations? and the Hendersons?

Graduation Friday night

The Henderson family and the Hovland family came together for yet another night of awesomeness. I just love it when we do this, and even more so when it's in celebration of a college degree.

winter break recap

So I blogged all the time over the break... but Im now realizing I didn't blog about what I actually did yet!

Here we go.

You saw how wonderful Disneyland was, and it pretty much rained the rest of the time I was there. I spent time with Dustin, our friends (his high school friends) and his family a lot of the time. His sisters took me to get a Christmas pedicure and we took his cousins to Balboa Park.
dinner on the ocean (pretty much) with a view of the downtown San Diego skyline
hit or miss- spin the spinner for a color and that bean either tastes delicious or will make you want to die. chocolate pudding or dog food... surprise!
my bomb tower that the staff took a picture of because it was awesome. im just saying.
Dustin and Carsons tower... aka Dustins work
Nick, Dustin, myself and Carson- I just love Balboa Park

After some great times there I left for Christmas Eve at the Johnsons. Christmas church service then party time!
mumsy and I

One day, he will learn to smile in pictures. Kayla is growing up so fast :)
The family :) ... with a Blue Moon. Of course.

to be continued...

Family Weekend: part 2

I love my parents. I always have but its incredible how much more you love and appreciate them when distance is a factor. But I digress..

Saturday morning my parents came into town, and we went to the ADPi and Beta Parents Weekend BBQ (in case I haden't mentioned, we're paired up for Parents weekend and Homecoming = the dream senior year).

Food was good, the parentals got to see what Beta (or as my dad refers to it as Dustin's dorm), and getting to mingle with so many people was awesome.

Afterwards we went out to Gentle Bens for a little tailgating... which, was a good time. Then off to ADPi (first picture).

Game time = awesomeness. Minus the fact that we lost.

Afterwards we went out to La Fuente for dinner and margaritas, delicious! Plus, Im loving guacamole more and more.

When dinner was over Dustin, Dad, Mom, and I headed to the local tattoo parlor! We have had a matching tattoo planned for some time but we decided a few weeks back that this would be the weekend. David, an awesome guy, was our tattoo artist. Mom didn't flinch at all! Mine was a few inches higher on my wrist and it hurt just a little.

Sunday, Mom and Dad came to the Alpha Delta Pi brunch, which was really nice. They had to leave a little earlier than I would have wanted because I had to work, but all in all it was a wondrous weekend.

I love my parents <3

The ceremony location, a country club in Seal Beach

Hey there!
Dustin and Tyler, how cute.
Possibly the 2 oldest/cutest dancers ever.
Chris and Jan :)

Dancin the night away.
Not sure what Im saying, maybe something like, sweet! I caught the bouquet!
Garter time!
pieces of the bouquet that were damaged by crazed women... including myself.
Pulling the strings to the cake. In Argentinian culture there is a seperate cake with strings coming out of a fondent piece, all the non-married women pull a string and there are charms on the ends. You get a map that tells you what yours means! I got the dolphin which means joy and happiness in life. (This whole thing is the Argentinian version of throwing the bouquet)

Whats up groom?!
stylin'
end of the night

It was an absolutely incredible experience. It gave me a lot of ideas for when I get married. I truly appreciated the ceremony- committing yourself to someone for life- it was absolutely beautiful. :)

true love.
