My Birthday

My actual birthday was wonderful, but I think all of the pictures are on my moms camera.

Dustin and I went home to visit my family, which was lovely, as per usual.

We all went out bowling and then had dinner at my house afterward. I love time with the family. I'm a very blessed girl.

Lastly, Dustin and I stopped by the Clarkson home for some pizookies. = yummy in a weird way.

It was a fabulous day.

The start of Senior Week

The newbies

Mortar Board Initiation was much needed. I have been mentally checked out of school for months, ADPi is my bright light in the tunnel, but I was wanting to get rid of some of my commitments, namingly my leadership position in MB. 

I have totally loved the position, especially the time between tapping and initiation. Buuuuuttt, that doesn't mean that I wasn't waiting for a break. The grand finale to my position as selections chair was initiation. and I think everything came together really well.

I want to be a Beta wife.

So I have been anxiously waiting a very special day for quite a while now. And by the title you may think I'm engaged, but it's actually lyrics from the Beta sweetheart song, from when I was pinned. :)

So here's the scoop. 

A pinning is when a guy wants to extend his brotherhood to his girlfriend and make her an honorary member of his chapter. It also just so happens to be a sort of "next steps" in a Greek relationship. Not quite engaged, but something a little more special than just dating.

What happened? Well about 60 of my favorite Beta friends showed up to the Pi Palace, and walked in in a line, each holding a rose. One by one they gave me a rose while singing a Beta song. To make things even better I had over 100 of my ADPi sisters there watching. :)

Soo at the end of this Beta train is the guy who melts my heart, Dustin. Looking so freaking cute I can't handle it.

He kneels down and I sit upon his knee (which was almost impossible because he was SO nervous = even more cuteness for Dustin).

Then the entire chapter sings ::
"How would you like to be a Beta Sweetheart? How would you like to wear a beta pin? How would you like to gaze upon the diamond? Gem of gems that never grows dim. How would yuo like to share a Beta friendship? Friendship that will last through life. How would you like to love a Beta always?"
and then everyone stops singing and Dustin sings::
"How would you like to be a Beta wife?"

In all, I got 66 roses. wow. and received the pin of the love of my life.

All in all, a pretty great day. Oh, and I cried. surprise, surprise.

Beta. 

Vegas, we just can't seem to stay apart.

As per usual, the 4 crazies (me, mom, Nicki and Cindy), made our way to Vegas for our semiannual trip (coincidentally falling on both mine and Nicki's birthday every 6 months).

This time we stayed at the MGM, fancy shmancy. Aaaand we stayed for 3 nights instead of 2. Which was extra awesome.

 We visited a club for some dancing one night

 at said club in the MGM... don't remember what it's called but it was interesting.

 We met this bachelor. Nice guy, terrible outfit.

 Near the pool at the Cosmopolitan. These little bush chairs line the pool area which looks out onto the strip. Basically, it's awesome. 

 I love her very much.

I had this hat, which says 22, made for me (or possibly my mom did), and this sweetheart was watching the entire time. So I gave it to her. She's probably not 22, I hope no one gets confused. 

We also went to Fremont (like a smaller version of the strip) and went on the zip line! It goes down the length of Fremont where the ceiling is made of a screen of sorts that plays advertisements and such. It was awesome. Also, we played some craps our last night there and made back almost all of our money from the entire weekend (including food and hotel and stuff) = bonus!

I love the Vegas trips with the moms. I have a great time with some of my best friends. :)

needing a day

Don't get me wrong, I am so happy that I work to (and have the opportunity to) live each and every day to its fullest.

But I am in need of one day. One day to catch up, relax, and smell the roses, because time is moving way too fast.

plus, I'd love to catch up on some must needed blogging. Maybe after the madness disappears.

1st anniversary of my 21st birthday

First a bunch of the ADPi's joined me for dinner, delicious. (don't know who has those pictures)

Then these lovelies took me out to have a wonderful time.

Basically I have wonderful friends and a very awesome boyfriend.

Those wedding bells are back again.

so I have known David and Jillian for quite some time. David is Nicki's brother, and Jillian and I date back to being roommates in France on the trip with Dance Factory (circa 2002?). And I have had the opportunity to watch their love grow from there.
